OMAHA, Neb. —
The Food Bank for the Heartland has received more than 22,000 pounds of food, or 18,000 meals, from the city of Omaha-run food drive that began a week ago, the food bank says.
More is on the way. The city expects to share a final count on Friday.
Wednesday is the last day of the city-run food drive.

Goodwill Omaha agreed to transport donations from city-run food drive sites to Food Bank for the Heartland. It will also ask customers to round up to support the United Way.
Although the Food Bank for the Heartland is thankful and impressed with the support from the city's food drive and all community drives, they say they can't replace SNAP.
