A Marana father who pleaded guilty to murdering his 2-year-old daughter after leaving her inside a hot car in 2024 was found dead in a Phoenix residence on the morning of Nov. 5.

Phoenix police responded to a home near Third Street and Northern Avenue at 5:22 a.m., where they discovered the body of Christopher Scholtes, 38.
