CLEVELAND — 3News is asking the difficult questions about the federal government shutdown : What happens if a deal isn’t reached before the end of the year?
According to retired Baldwin Wallace University political science professor Dr. Tom Sutton, the health care subsidies Democrats are fighting to keep in place will expire at the end of the year if Congress doesn’t act.
Sutton says the Dec. 31 expiration could have a ripple effect across the health care system — impacting millions of Americans who rely on those subsidies to afford coverage through the Affordable Care Act.
