MINOT, ND (KXNET) — When you think of competition in schools, most people picture the football field, the basketball court, or the track. But at Erik Ramstad Middle School in Minot, one eighth grader is proving there's more than one way to be a champion. 13-year-old Clara Zheng is showing off a different kind of strength: the power of her mind.
"I've always been a history buff," she said. "I have the U.S. presidents hanging up on my wall, so I always had an interest in this field."
Clara came out on top in North Dakota's first-ever Civics Bee State Finals last summer. Now, she's ready to compete on a national level in Washington D.C.
