SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - Following the deadly plane crash in Louisville Tuesday, Suncoast emergency personnel are weighing on their mass casualty disaster preparations.

Sarasota County Fire Department Assistant Chief of Special Programs Tim Dorsey says it’s not a matter of if , but a matter of when , when it comes to the importance of training exercises.

Venice licensed commercial pilot Tim Kenny said disaster training can make all the difference when it comes to passenger or pilot survival.

Kenny tells ABC7 that pilots prepare for emergency landings all the time, but you can’t prepare for a crash. However, you can learn from them.
