The New South Wales health minister says he intends to review the powers hospital security workers have after a man assaulted four guards at a regional hospital and bit one of them.
A warrant was issued for the arrest of William Kevin Robins, 27, on Monday after he failed to appear in Tamworth Local Court for a sentencing hearing for four counts of assaulting a frontline health worker.
According to court documents, Robins, who lives with schizoid personality disorder, was taken to the Tamworth Hospital emergency department by police on September 22 due to welfare concerns, receiving treatment for injuries and a mental health assessment.
