SANDUSKY — The Ottawa Hills Green Bears earned a trip to the state championship game with a 1-0 win over Kidron Central Christian in a Division V state semifinal on Wednesday night at Sandusky Perkins.
Ottawa Hills senior Maddock Robson scored the game-winning goal with 5:33 left in regulation on a perfectly placed free kick from 51 yards out. The high lofting shot, aided by a swift wind, sailed just over the head of Central Christian goalkeeper Bryan Martin.
Ottawa Hills (12-9-2) has outscored foes 50-35 and is ranked No. 17 in Division V. Kidron Central Christian (16-3-3) had outscored foes 65-10 and came in ranked No. 8 in the state.
