TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - Strengthening downtown Tucson tourism is the goal of the Tucson City Council through their new initiative called “Heart of Tucson.”
Ward 6 Councilmember Karin Uhlich told 13 News that the project will promote more mobility within Tucson and more traction for businesses.
However, it could also increase parking fees downtown.
“(We need to) recognize that we need to treat this area of the city very differently than anywhere else in the city, so here’s our opportunity,” Uhlich said during the city council study session on Wednesday, Nov. 5. “I think some great innovations and opportunities can come from this.”
