LEDYARD, Conn. (WTNH) — Gallup Hill School in Ledyard will be closed Thursday after a fire was extinguished from a school bathroom Wednesday.
According to the superintendent of Ledyard Public Schools, preliminary findings by the police indicate that the fire was "isolated to the actions of one student," and that a juvenile summons was issued.
The fire was contained to the bathroom, and no injuries were reported.
The superintendent said that a professional fire restoration team is cleaning and sanitizing the impacted areas to ensure that it is safe for students and staff to return.
