Three New Haven Public Schools staff members have been put on leave after a student was given medicine that made them feel dizzy, according to the school district.

A spokesperson for the school district said a part-time staff member in an early childhood program gave students what's described as medicine, which caused the child to experience drowsiness.

The school district contacted the Department of Children and Families (DCF), and they're conducting an investigation with the help of New Haven police.

The staff member that allegedly gave students medicine, as well as two other staff members assigned to the classroom, have been temporarily placed on leave, according to school officials.
