JACKSONVILLE, Texas — Bobby Michael Dennis , the man accused of shooting a Jacksonville police officer, has been taken into custody.
Chief Steven Markasky confirmed to CBS19 Dennis was taken into custody Wednesday at 8:30 p.m. Dennis is accused of shooting a Jacksonville officer Sunday night, injuring her and her K-9 unit. He evaded capture by police and law enforcement, prompting a manhunt for his arrest.
Multiple law enforcement agencies assisted Jacksonville PD in arresting Dennis at a property on CR 3509 West of Jacksonville city limits in Cuney. He was located in a wooded area and surrendered to law enforcement without further incident.
