After several days of investigating, DeLand police have confirmed that the deaths of a husband and wife found inside their home last weekend were the result of a murder-suicide.

Investigators say 49-year-old Scott Waldron, a state probation officer, fatally shot his wife, 47-year-old Padmini Waldron, before turning the gun on himself on Nov. 1. Police say Waldron used his duty-issued Glock handgun in the incident.

According to an incident report obtained by WESH 2, officers were called to the couple’s home on Cape Cod Road just after 11 a.m. Saturday for a report of a possible cardiac arrest. When officers arrived, they found both Scott and Padmini dead inside the bathroom of their master bedroom.
