A 22-year-old Lancaster County man will spend 35 to 70 years in prison after pleading guilty to sexually abusing and raping a girl for years, beginning when she was 6, according to the district attorney’s office.

On July 16, Dalton R. Lewis, of Lancaster, pleaded guilty to 16 offenses, including rape and six counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse. He was sentenced on Oct. 23.

Police in January 2024 launched an investigation into Lewis after the victim, who is now a teenager, said he forced her to perform sex acts against her will for years.

During a police interview, Lewis admitted to sexually abusing the victim, the DA’s office said.

The victim, while crying, told the court she constantly lives in fear, has trouble being in public, and struggles with speaking to men.
