Frankenmuth and Birch Run did not play each other during the regular season, but the two former Tri-Valley Conference rivals are headed for a championship battle.

Frankenmuth claimed a 25-18, 25-22, 25-14 Division 2 district semifinal win over Clio to earn a spot in the championship match at 6 p.m. Thursday at Flint Hamady against the 28-13-3 Panthers.
