FLUSHING, MI -- The resignation of Flushing City Councilman Nick Reitano has led officials to search for a new member.
Reitano submitted his letter of resignation on Oct. 27, reading in part "Unfortunately, due to personal matters, I am resigning from Flushing City Council effective immediately."
He thanked the city manager for their dedication to the community and he enjoyed working alongside “such dedicated council colleagues as well.”
"Being on Flushing City Council has been one of the greatest honors of my life," the letter reads.
Reitano was elected during a special election in November 2024 to serve the remainder of late Councilman Dan Fralick’s term ending in November 2026.
Fralick was elected in November 2021 for a term set to end in November 2026. He died on Nov. 9, 2022
