OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - The Crossroads development off 72nd and Dodge Streets is back in the spotlight tonight.

Alongside developers, the City of Omaha held a town hall to get feedback on a renewed effort to finally finish the project, to the tune of $860 million.

Five years ago the Crossroads Mall was demolished to make way for a new retail hub.

The original timeline would’ve had it completed last year, but today, that patch of land still looks like piles of dirt.

People living nearby are just hoping this time the project goes through.

For years, Nicky and Gary Schadee have watched over the lot at 72nd and Dodge from their front window.
