A mother has described "heartbreaking screams, cries and tears" from her children upon learning of the death of their father, who was stabbed 11 times in northern Tasmania in 2022.
Carly Schreuder took a deep breath before she described the impact of David Wayne Jenkins's death on their children to the Launceston Supreme Court on Thursday.
Ms Schreuder said his murder had led to significant changes in their daughter and son, who were left "clinging to the only memories they have" of their father.
"How do you tell a nine-year-old girl and a six-year-old boy that they will never see their father again?" she said in her victim impact statement.
