MINOT, N.D. KMOT) -- Minot North senior Aven Kelly signed to Bismarck State volleyball on Wednesday.

Aven is the first college volleyball signee in school history.

She discusses what made volleyball the sport to continue at the next level, and what set the Mystics apart.

“I didn’t really expect it. Growing up, I really liked softball. But when the opportunity presented itself [to play college volleyball], I’m like, ‘Hey, what if this is the path I’m meant to go down?’ It’s pretty cool. I really love volleyball, I think this year has been a game changer. I’m excited to get to pursue it at the collegiate level. I really love their coaching staff, I love their community, the campus is really pretty and I fell in love with their program almost immediately,” said Kelly.
