India has begun repatriating its citizens who fled Myanmar’s cybercrime hub last month , with the first group returning from Thailand on Thursday. The evacuees were among hundreds trapped in what authorities describe as one of Southeast Asia's most notorious scam compounds.

The operation followed an October raid by Myanmar's Army on KK Park, a sprawling complex outside Myawaddy near the Thai border, long known as a base for online fraud and illegal gambling. The military crackdown prompted hundreds of workers, including more than 450 Indians, to escape across the border to Thailand.

According to Maj. Gen. Maitree Chupreecha, who heads Thailand's Naresuan Task Force, an Indian Air Force transport aircraft has already departed with the first batch of 270 nationals, news agency Associa
