The National Weather Service issued a wind advisory at 2:57 a.m. on Thursday in effect until 8 a.m. for Southern Herkimer, Southern Fulton, Northern Saratoga, Western Schenectady, Eastern Schenectady, Southern Saratoga, Western Albany, Eastern Albany, Western Rensselaer, Eastern Rensselaer, Western Greene, Eastern Greene, Western Columbia, Eastern Columbia, Western Ulster, Northern Fulton and Southern Washington as well as Montgomery and Schoharie counties.
"Northwest winds 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 to 45 mph," can be anticipated according to the weather service. "The potential for wind gusts reaching or exceeding 50mph has now ended. We therefore downgraded our high wind warning to a wind advisory."
