At a hospital in Oceanside, New York, staff members witnessed just how difficult city life can be for animals. Looking out a window that overlooked the parking lot, they spotted a mother duck proudly leading her ten ducklings across the pavement. It was a heartwarming sight, until nine of the ducklings suddenly disappeared.

They had slipped through a metal grate and fallen into a sewer below.
