A 29-year-old woman serving as a Home Guard reportedly ended her life by consuming poison inside a government apartment in Chandrasekharpur Mandap Basti, Bhubaneswar.

Police recovered the body under suspicious circumstances and sent it for post-mortem. The woman had been living in the apartment with her two children. Her husband passed away six months ago, and family members believe she was struggling with mental distress since then.
