Cairo, Nov 6 (UNI/SPUTNIK) Forty-three people were killed and 37 others were injured when the rebel Rapid Support Forces (RSF) shelled the town of Barah in Sudan’s North Kurdufan province, Al Jazeera reported, citing a local humanitarian aid commission.

On October 26, RSF rebels said that they had seized control of the headquarters of the Sudanese army’s 6th Infantry Division in Al Fashir, following 18 months of fighting for the city, which had been the government’s main stronghold in North Darfur. Last Tuesday, Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese army Abdel Fattah al-Burhan announced the withdrawal of troops from the city.
