Alexandre Ben amou scored a pair of goals and Matthew Addai added a goal and two assists, as Pennington defeated Lawrenceville, 5-2, at the Pearl Family Stadium in Pennington, to capture its third straight Prep A Tournament championship.
The Red Hawks (12-3-1) were 2-3 after their first five games of the season, but finished on a tear, outscoring opponents, 47-5, over the course of an 11-game unbeaten streak (10-0-1).
Addai, whose 21 goals and eight assists were team highs, and Ben amou, who had eight goals, were at the center of the renaissance. Kelvin Kwarteng, a sophomore, had eight goals and six assists.
