Now that Yorgos Lanthimos' latest film, Bugonia, is playing in theaters, there has been plenty of time for critics and audiences to react to the nature of the film and its intriguing commentary. The film is a remake of the Korean film Save the Green Planet, and tells the story of two conspiracy-obsessed men (one played by Jesse Plemons) who kidnap the CEO of a major company (Emma Stone), as they're convinced that she's an alien who wants to destroy Earth. The movie deals with intense themes of alienation and paranoia, and while the movie is incredibly timely, it wasn't the intent of the screenwriter behind the film to make it topical.
