A cold-blooded killer who had a "bad temper" has been jailed for life after he brutally murdered his stepdaughter and her husband in their own home before picking up their children from school.
Derek Martin said he "just flipped" when he attacked Chloe Bashford, 30, with a hammer and stabbed her eight times. He then ambushed Josh Bashford, who had been driving home from work, and chased him into an upstairs bedroom before stabbing and strangling him to death.
The couple were killed following a dispute over money after Martin, who had been previously married to Chloe's mother, claimed that Chloe was due to pay a tenth of the £1,500 she owed him. After the brutal murders, Martin calmly picked up the couple's four children from school before taking them to their grandmother’s house.
