At an Indian community event in Auckland, Commerce & Industry Minister Piyush Goyal highlighted growing India–New Zealand ties, recalling New Zealand PM Christopher Luxon’s remark at the Raisina Dialogue on the need for strong and diversified global partnerships. Goyal said that despite geographical distance, both nations are united by shared values, ambitions, and democratic principles. He noted that, both sides are now working toward a fair and balanced Free Trade Agreement as a foundation for deeper strategic cooperation in defence, aerospace, innovation, education, culture, and sports. He added that over 30 MoUs signed during PM Luxon’s recent India visit reflect the expanding partnership.
