The 6-foot-6 LSU shooting guard simultaneously caught the early pass from point guard Dedan Thomas as he was setting his feet. The late defender entered Mackinnon’s air space, but it was too late as the quick-release jumpshot couldn’t be stopped from going through the hoop.

The score at the 18:02 mark of the first half was the first of four 3-pointers that Mackinnon made in the Tigers' season-opening 96-60 drubbing of Tarleton State on Wednesday at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.
