A Wednesday morning fire at Fourwinds Lakeside Inn & Marina destroyed boats and required crews to push burning boats into the lake to prevent the flames from spreading.

When firefighters arrived at the scene at about 8 a.m. Nov. 6, they encountered "a large column of smoke and heavy fire involving multiple boats at the docks,” according to the Monroe Fire Protection District.

Flames destroyed three boats and moderately damaged a fourth, the MFPD said. No injuries were reported.
