Boston's Logan airport has been named as one of 40 U.S. airports that may experience a reduction in flights in order to maintain the operational safety of the nation's airspace, according to the Massachusetts Port Authority.

These changes, announced by the FAA, are set to begin Friday. A Massport representative said they were awaiting information from the FAA on which flights would be impacted, though they were already seeing some late Thursday . The agency anticipated delays and cancellations, urging passengers to check on their flight status before heading to Logan.
