COLUMBIA, Mo. (KCTV) - An 18-year-old Mizzou student from the Kansas City area has been charged and held without bond after he was accused of choking a victim in late September.

Maxwell Warren of Overland Park, Kansas, faces charges of first-degree burglary, two counts of felony domestic assault and one count of misdemeanor domestic assault.

A probable cause document alleged that on Sept. 26, 2025, Warren had been blocked on Snapchat by a victim. He then showed up uninvited to the victim’s residence hall room at the University of Missouri, pushed the victim against the bed and put his hands around their neck, strangling them.

He demanded that the victim add him back on the social media platform.
