KANSAS CITY, Kan. (KCTV) - Law enforcement announced an arrest and subsequent charges Thursday afternoon in a weekend homicide investigation.

Kevin Calamaco-Morales, 22, was arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder and unlawful shooting in connection with the death of 20-year-old Ana Juarez.

Officers responded to the area of North 11th Street and Barnett Avenue about 4:30 a.m. on Nov. 1 for a reported shooting .

When law enforcement arrived, they found a woman standing outside a home with an apparent gunshot wound. She was taken to an area hospital, where she soon died.

Officers took Calamaco-Morales into custody and booked him into the Wyandotte County Jail on a $500,000 bond.
