A 26-year-old woman was fatally struck by a vehicle in Ocean Township Tuesday, Nov. 4, authorities said.

At 5:36 p.m., Ocean Township police responded to Route 35 and Sunset Avenue after Amatullah Morejon was struck by a 2024 Infiniti SUV while attempting to cross the street, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond Santiago said.

Morejon was rushed to Jersey Shore University Medical Center where she was pronounced dead at 6:31 p.m., Santiago said. The driver remained on scene, Santiago said.

The crash remains under investigation, Santiago said.

Services for Morejon will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 8 at Masjid Rahmah in Newark. She will be interned at Forest Green Park Cemetery in Morganville.
