LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Police are investigating a vandalism at a Lincoln elementary school.

On Saturday, Lincoln Police officers responded to a vandalism call at Sheridan Elementary School shortly before 10:45 a.m. A neighbor reported seeing graffiti on the playground surfaces.

LPD believes the vandalism occurred sometime between Thursday night and Saturday morning.

The graffiti included a swastika, the n-word and large stylized W’s in red paint, causing an estimated $15,000 in damage, LPD said.

In a letter sent out to Sheridan families on Saturday, Lincoln Public Schools said “I want to be clear - this type of hateful language will not be tolerated at Sheridan Elementary School or Lincoln Public Schools.”
