A retiree in Lancaster is back on the road and doing something good for other older adults in need of joy and companionship.

Lillian Henry turned the key to hear the sweet sound of the engine revving in her new car, wheels she needed to keep up her volunteer duties with The Senior Source in Dallas.

Lillian retired in 2013, but staying home and resting was not in her plans. She started volunteering at The Senior Source. For the past five years, she’s devoted at least 15 hours per week to visiting older adults and spending quality time with them.

When her car broke down this year, Lillian didn’t give up. She stayed in touch with her clients by calling them daily to lift their spirits.
