The National Weather Service has issued multiple winter weather advisories for portions of the Kenai Peninsula as a strong storm system brings heavy snowfall and gusty winds to the region beginning Thursday morning.

Turnagain Pass and Interior Kenai Peninsula

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 10 a.m. Thursday to 6 a.m. Friday for the Interior Kenai Peninsula and Turnagain Pass, including Hope, Summit Lake, and Moose Pass.

Snowfall: Turnagain Pass is expected to see 8 to 16 inches of snow, while areas from Hope south to Primrose could receive 5 to 10 inches.

Winds: Gusts may reach up to 25 mph, leading to blowing snow and reduced visibility.

Travel Impact: Officials warn that road conditions could deteriorate rapidly, particularly along the Seward Highway and mountain passes,
