A legendary drummer who played with the band Squeeze and Jools Holland's ensemble has passed away. Gilson Lavis has died aged 74.
His musician friend Jools, 67, confirmed the news and shared a heartfelt tribute on social media.
Lavis became a household name during the 1970s as the drummer for the acclaimed rock group Squeeze, celebrated for chart-toppers including Cool for Cats, Up the Junction and Labelled with Love.

He became part of the line-up after responding to a newspaper advertisement.
The group disbanded during the 1980s, before reuniting in 1985 and ultimately parting ways once more in 1999.
