MINNEAPOLIS — Minneapolis police are investigating a shooting that left one woman dead in a Minneapolis apartment on Wednesday night.

In a press release, Minneapolis police said they responded to a shooting at the 2600 block of West Broadway around 6 p.m. Wednesday. Officers found a woman with a gunshot wound. She died at the scene.

Investigators believe that the woman was with a male acquaintance in the apartment and he shot her. Officers arrested a 65-year-old man and retrieved a gun and knife from the apartment, according to the press release.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the victim's name and cause of death.
