A 65-year-old man was arrested in connection with a fatal shooting Wednesday night inside a north Minneapolis apartment.

Police responded to the reported shooting around 5:45 p.m. Wednesday on the 2600 block of West Broadway.

When officers arrived, they found a woman who had been shot inside an apartment, purportedly by a male acquaintance. She was declared dead at the scene.

The suspect was arrested and taken to Hennepin County Jail.

A gun and knife were recovered by police. Other evidence was collected at the scene as well.

Neither the victim nor the suspect has been identified by authorities. The woman's name is expected to be released soon by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office.
