HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (WSMV) - The Kentucky State Police (KSP) is investigating a deadly crash between a deputy and a pedestrian in Christian County on Wednesday night.

The KSP reported that on Wednesday, a deputy with the Christian County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call around 7:15 p.m.

While en route on Madisonville Road, the deputy struck a man who was on the road near the 4500 block, according to the report.

KSP identified the pedestrian as 40-year-old Brandon Higgins, who is from Hopkinsville. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation into the deadly incident remains ongoing.
