SHREVEPORT, La. -- The Caddo Sheriff’s Special Victims Unit has arrested a man from DeSoto Parish for sex crimes involving a juvenile, as reported by Sheriff Henry Whitehorn Sr.

On Oct. 2, Caddo sheriff's deputies began investigating an alleged case of sexual misconduct involving a minor that occurred between 2015 and 2017. They reached out to CPSO's Special Victims Unit, which conducted an interview with the suspect, Jimmy Wendt, 67.

Det. Thomas Lites was able to secure a warrant for Wendt's arrest on charges of indecent behavior with a juvenile and sexual battery.

Wendt was subsequently arrested and taken to the Caddo Correctional Center, where he was booked. The investigation is ongoing.
