MAPLE HEIGHTS, Ohio – A man died and a woman was wounded in a home-invasion robbery in Maple Heights on Wednesday night, according to police.

Officers responded about 9:45 p.m. to a residence in the 21400 block of Libby Road after receiving a report of a woman shot in the hand, authorities said.

When police arrived, they found the victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Investigators later determined the injuries occurred during the robbery at the residence.

The woman was transported to MetroHealth Medical Center for treatment. The man was taken to South Pointe Hospital, where he later died from his injuries, police said.

Authorities have not released the names of the victims.
