DALLAS — Dallas Cowboys defensive end Marshawn Kneeland died at the age of 24, the team announced Thursday.

The Cowboys selected Kneeland in the second round of the 2024 NFL draft from Western Michigan University, and called him a "beloved teammate and member of our organization" in a statement.

Authorities later released more details regarding his death, saying Kneeland was found dead of what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound following a chase and crash.
