A street and a parking garage near Danbury Hospital were closed on Thursday morning as police investigated a suspicious package, which turned out not to contain anything dangerous.

Police said Danbury Hospital security called them around 2:46 a.m. about a suspicious package in the Rizzo Parking Garage and officers immediately responded and worked with hospital security and local and state agencies.

Crews found that the package wasn’t dangerous, police said.

The hospital remained open during the investigation and police said there was no interruption to patient care.

The police investigation is ongoing.
