ROCK ISLAND, Ill. (KWQC) - An 18-year-old and a 15-year-old are both charged after gunfire led to a police chase, officials say.
A home and two parked cars were hit by gunfire at about 11:16 p.m. Wednesday in the 1000 block of 12th Street, according to the Rock Island Police Department.
Investigators determined they were looking for a stolen Kia Sportage in connection with the incident.
A license plate reader found the Kia going into Moline at about 12:20 a.m. Thursday. Police said a Moline officer began a chase of the Kia into Rock Island along 18th Avenue.
Rock Island Police officers joined the chase which they said lasted over 30 minutes at speeds over 100 mph.
Officers tried to use tire deflation devices to stop the vehicle.
