A person was taken into custody in Merrimack, New Hampshire, on Thursday amid the search for a potential witness to a homicide in Concord, officials said.
The person was seen being escorted by police near a collection of dumpsters off Daniel Webster Highway. There was a large police presence in the area.

Earlier, police in Litchfield, across the Merrimack River, said they were looking for a suspect in a homicide. They later said they'd checked the area and there was no threat to the community.
Asked about the Litchfield search, the New Hampshire Attorney General's Office said the search was in connection to a homicide investigation based in Concord, and police were looking to find a potential witness.
