BELLA VISTA, Ark. (KNWA/KTFA) — The city of Bella Vista is holding a special election on Nov. 18 to ask voters to decide on extending the city's existing 1% sales tax.
The city is asking for an extension of the 1% sales tax -- which was adopted Nov. 18, 2019 -- to pay for city projects that support the city's growth without raising taxes, according to the city of Bella Vista website.
If voters choose to extend the sales tax, the city plans to pay existing debt, complete construction of the Fire and City Admin Complex, make improvements to the Fire and Police Departments and fund street improvements.
According to the city's website, the election does not include new taxes or a tax increase.
Voters will be given six ballot items: 2020 Refunding Bonds, 2024 Refunding Bonds, Fire and City
