MADISON, Wis. (WFRV) - Officials in Wisconsin are investigating after a man was found dead just under 24 hours after a Silver Alert was issued for him.
According to a Madison Police Department release, officers were sent to the 7000 block of Flower Lane for a missing 66-year-old named David Wells, who was last seen on November 4 around 7 p.m. in the area.
Officers used a drone to try and find Wells, but were unsuccessful in doing so. A Silver Alert was issued for Wells around 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 5.
The alert was canceled on Thursday around 5:30 a.m., after it was learned that Wells had been found dead on the west side of Madison around 12:18 a.m. Thursday.
Officials say nothing is suspicious at the moment; however, they are investigating.
