MARTINSBURG - For Kierra Anderson, Martinsburg's 3-0 (25-14, 27-25, 25-18) win over Spring Mills in the Class AAAA, North Region volleyball tournament co-final on Wednesday was special for a number of reasons.
Not only did she lead her alma mater to the state tournament for the first time in over a decade, but she accomplished the feat in her first year as coach - pretty special indeed.
"It's been very, very exciting. It's been a rollercoaster for sure," said Anderson, who graduated from Martinsburg in 2021. "Being able to get them somewhere that I wanted to go so badly, it's more exciting than I think it was being a player."
Wednesday's meeting between the Bulldogs (22-8) and Cardinals (20-12-1) was the second in the tournament, with Spring Mills earning a win in both teams' opener las
