KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Part of Kansas City's annual crime and domestic violence statistics have been released, and according to the data, Kansas City has experienced one of its deadliest years in over a decade.
Within the first 100 days of 2025, Jackson County COMBAT -- a nonprofit that works throughout the county to address violence and drug abuse - said the Kansas City Police Department responded to 12 homicides linked to domestic violence in the city, matching the overall total for 2024.
Since then, that number has climbed to 19, making 2025 the second-deadliest year in Kansas City for domestic violence since 2014, the organization said.
